New quick coupler introduced for material handlers, cranes

OilQuick USA, Superior Wisconsin, has introduced a new quick coupler for large material handlers—the OQC90, which the company says is similar to its previous couplers for material handlers but much stronger.

The OQC90 comes in two varieties: the OQC90-68 and the OQC90-54, according to the company.

The company says the OQC90-68 can lift up to 68 metric tonnes, making it viable for large material handlers and harbor cranes, and the OQC-54 can lift up to 54 metric tonnes. Both feature a 100-amp electric swivel connection that can accommodate up to four hydraulic connections.

The OQC system includes a suspended quick coupler and a “rugged” 360-degree rotator mounted on a fully hydraulic quick coupler. The OQC unit is suspended from the handler equipment’s stick. With the OQC system, OilQuick USA says operators, with the touch of a button, can change attachments, such as hooks, wood chip buckets, clamshell grapples, grapples and other attachments. The system can also include an electric swivel for operating lifting magnets without additional cables having to be laid out from the machine to the plate.

The OQC line includes six models ranging from the OQC65-120 with a maximum lift capacity of 20 metric tons to the OQC90-68 which can lift up to 68 metric tons.

The OQC system enables operators and owners to:
