Part of the Caterpillar B Series of mobile shears for demolition applications, the S385B was designed for use with large excavators. It has a jaw opening of 34.6 inches and a hardened, welded-on piercing tip on the upper jaw. Bolt-on knife segments run the entire length of the lower jaw, and the knives feature threaded bolt holes and slotted shims, designed to make changing knives quick. It also has a bolt-on wear plate designed to protect the upper jaw from wear.
