Terex Construction Americas, Southhaven, Miss., has introduced the TA250 articulated truck. With a maximum payload capacity of 27.5 tons, a heaped capacity of 20.3 cubic yards and a 365-horsepower engine with a high-capacity cooling system designed especially for hauler applications, the new Terex TA250 is engineered to be productive in the most extreme working conditions. Joining the TA300 and TA400 models already available in the North American market, the TA250 is well suited for diverse applications such as quarrying, mining, construction and road maintenance, according to the company.

The Terex TA250 articulated truck boasts a high power-to-weight ratio with its turbocharged, Tier-3 compliant Cummins engine, a ZF fully automatic transmission with manual override and a maximum torque of 1,234 ft-lb at 1,400 rpm at 104,068-lbs operating weight. With six forward and three reverse gears, this truck can travel to speeds of 31 mph. The TA250’s three axles are in permanent all-wheel drive (6x6) and are equipped with 100 percent cross-axle lockup, enabling TA250 operators to easily traverse the challenging grades and work in demanding site conditions.
The TA250 is the only truck in its size class equipped with wet disc brakes on all six wheels, and it comes standard with an engine brake retarder, according to the company. The Terex truck’s braking system provides extended brake component life, reduced service intervals and operating costs, as well as improved overall braking performance, the company adds..
The TA250 comes standard with hydrostatic power steering, air conditioning, a high-quality sound system and strategically placed mirrors.
