DoppstadtUS, Avon, Ohio, has introduced the SM 1200 Triflex Star Screen, a two-deck star screen that creates three fractions from organic source material, including that with high moisture content. The functionality of the Triflex is based on parallel rotation of the stars on each desk to loosen and transport material across the screen. Alternating shaft speeds are designed to provide an additional degree of agitation for further tear and separation of the material. The deck openings can be changed on the fly, according to the company, because of the adjustable shaft speed controls.
The Triflex has 140 square feet of screening surface and can be fitted with optional windsifters over both decks, magnetic separation and additional star deck or tipping grid above the hopper.
“We believe the introduction of the SM 1200 Triflex to the U.S. market will be a game changer,” says Hugh Fagan, DoppstadtUS sales director. “There really isn’t another machine that can compete on this scale and it will provide a level of screening capability that can completely change the economics of large-scale separation facilities.”
