Peterson Corp., Eugene, Ore., a subsidiary of Astec Industries Co., has introduced its latest generation of track grinders, the 2710C. Weighing 59,000 pounds, the 2710C is designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs. The grinder features a feed opening of 60 ¾ by 32 inches and is powered by a Caterpillar C13 engine at 475 horsepower or an optional C15 at 580 horsepower. The 2710C’s new generation of controls includes Peterson’s Adaptive Control System and a fully adjustable feed system that is optimized for a wide range of materials. The new controls also feature a LCD display and system pressure transducers and remote monitoring capability. The new excavator also includes Peterson’s Impact Cushion System. The urethane cushions allow movement of the compression roll/anvil housing pivot shaft, cushioning impacts due to contaminants in the feed material.
