Yoder & Frey says December auctions successful

The construction equipment auctioneer is holding a show in Kissimmee, Florida, Feb. 13-17.

Yoder & Frey, an auctioneer of heavy construction equipment based in Holland, Ohio, held its final sales for 2017 on Dec. 5 in Atlanta and Dec. 7 in Ashland, Ohio. Yoder & Frey says it attracted record numbers of bidders to the sales from a global audience, setting the foundations for what the company says will be a successful winter auction in Kissimmee, Florida, Feb. 13-17.

“We were extremely pleased with how the two sales went,” Peter Clark, founder and CEO of Yoder & Frey, says.  “Selling was strong at our Atlanta sale with great interest in the equipment of Mitchell Contracting and the Ashland auction was the best we have ever had with the highest hammer total, most bidders and most new registers for this auction. 2017 has been an extremely good year for Yoder & Frey, and we have seen momentum build at all our sales across the U.S. and our merger with Euro Auctions, the largest auction house in Europe, has helped us generate greater interest and also reach out to more international and domestic buyers. We are working hard to make sure 2018 will be an even better year.”

A key feature of the Atlanta auction was the inclusion of liquidation stock from Mitchell Contracting Co. LLC, Dalton, Georgia. The overall sale comprised of earth moving equipment, trucks and trailers, including a 2017 320FL excavator that went for $155,000 and a 2011 312D, both manufactured by Peoria, Illinois-based Caterpillar that sold for $45,500.  A choice of 2011 310J loaders manufactured by John Deere, Moline, Illinois, sold for $29,500.

Consignments to the Ashland auction included the liquidations from CKS Pipeline Contracting LLC, Jane Lew, West Virginia, and others. In addition to an unused 1640 mini loader manufactured by Gehl, West Bend, Wisconsin, which went for $13,500 there were used Caterpillar, models by Bobcat, West Fargo, North Dakota, plus John Deere backhoes. Telehandlers, loaders and rollers were also present at this auction.

“For Florida 2018 we are already seeing consignments and real commitments from the U.S. and Europe as well as from further around the world,” Peter Clark says. “Having founded the winter sale in Florida over 40 years ago, the expertise our team possesses is second to none and our execution is faultless. Our market knowledge and attention to detail makes Yoder & Frey the perfect partner for consignors looking to sell and realize good prices for their equipment and machinery.”
