Wood Recycler and County Work Toward Compromise

The owner of an Anne Arundel County, Md., wood recycling facility has been working with the county council for three months on a proposed agreement to restrict his operations, according to a report in the Baltimore Sun.

Some residents have raised concerns about noise, dust and odors from A-A Recycle & Sand since the plant was rezoned for industrial use three months ago, according to the report.

Some proposed restrictions to the plant’s operation include planting additional trees at the rear of the 28-acre property, establishing meetings between the owner and the community and limiting the use of A-A Recycle’s wood grinder to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
