Wisconsin village selects contractor for demolition project

Guelig Waste Removal and Demolition will work on two demolition projects in Mount Pleasant.

The village of Mount Pleasant in Wisconsin has selected Guelig Waste Removal and Demolition LLC, Eden, Wisconsin, for the first two contracts in Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group’s planned manufacturing campus, a report by the BizTimes says. Guelig was the lowest bidder on the two packages at a combined $378,300. The village’s finance, legal and license committee recommended the contracts’ approval, and the village board is expected to vote on them June 4.

The initial work includes 23 parcels where crews will tear down all structures, out building, flatwork and driveway aprons. The report says crews will also fill basements, crawl spaces and excavated areas with an approved granular material and restore landscapes as needed.

Guelig is proposing to work with four subcontractors on the project, including KPH Construction, Milwaukee; Adam Salem Sand and Gravel Inc., Salem, Wisconsin; Krizan’s Well Drilling, Union Grove, Wisconsin; and Pat’s Services Inc., Burlington, Wisconsin.

Village officials said all 20 bids for the project came from Wisconsin companies.
