Prompted by the opposition of some residents, the Town Board of Brooklyn, Wis., has voted to recommend to the Green County (Wisconsin) Board to reject a proposal to build an asphalt plant at the Kranig Gravel Pit in Brooklyn, according to a report from WKOW-TV (Madison, Wis.).
The owners of the gravel pit have proposed building an asphalt plan on site. According to the report, the Town of Brooklyn Board initially approved the plan in February with no recommendations to the county. The new recommendation was made following an emergency meeting of the Town Board called after some residents voiced opposition to the plan.
