West Salem Machinery, a Salem, Ore.-based equipment manufacturer, is touting its Titan line of horizontal grinders, which it says is designed to process diverse types of biomass feedstock. The company says the new line of grinders can process stumps, land clearing and urban wood scrap into high quality biomass fuel and other finished fiber products.
According to the company, the Titan grinder features a multi-strand drag chain infeed conveyor, large diameter powered feedroll and fully proportional load-sensing feed controller for efficient feeding of material into the grinder. Additional features include a rotor assembly with rigid hammers and reversible/replaceable tips and modular sizing screens to ensure a consistent finished fuel. The company adds that the stationary electric grinder can be supplied with single or dual electric drive motors, with drive sizes from 400 to 1,500 horsepower.
The Titan series grinders are used at biomass power facilities around the world, according to the company.
