WCA Waste Corp., Houston, has signed an agreement to acquire two landfills, two transfer stations and two material recovery facilities (MRFs) from MRR Southern LLC, Greensboro, N.C.
The acquisition, which expands WCA Waste’s presence in the Raleigh/Durham and Winston-Salem/Greensboro areas, is expected to close during the first quarter of 2005, according to a release from WCA Waste.
The first operation, located in Raleigh, N.C., consists of a 211-acre landfill permitted to accept construction and demolition material, and a transfer station feeding the landfill.
The second facility, located in High Point, N.C., services the Winston-Salem and Greensboro market. It consists of a 154-acre landfill and MRF. It also has a permit to accept C&D debris.
