The equipment company Wastequip, Charlotte, N.C., has promoted John Defenbaugh to president of its mobile division. Defenbaugh, who has been with Wastequip for more than 16 years, has served in a variety of roles, including regional sales manager, general manager and vice president of operations and, most recently, senior vice president of operational excellence.
In his new role, Defenbaugh will assume responsibility for sales and operations for Galbreath, Pioneer, Mountain Tarp and Parts Place brands.
The company also named Shawn King president of Wastequip’s technical division. King will focus on growing Wastequip’s market share for compactors and balers. King previously served in the position Defenbaugh accepted and has held various leadership roles within Wastequip, including vice president of marketing and vice president of sales.
Wastequip also named Tim Phanco to vice president of sales for Toter. The company says Phanco brings extensive sales experience with firms such as Otto and Rehrig Pacific. Phanco joined Wastequip earlier this year as vice president and general manager of the technical division.
“These moves will help Wastequip continue growing as overall business and competitive conditions change,” says Marty Bryant, CEO of Wastequip. “Additionally, this organizational realignment allows us to continue developing top talent within Wastequip to ensure we have the best team in place to serve our customers.”
