Wastequip , Charlotte, N.C., announces it has redesigned its plastic Organics 3-yard FEL Container to better withstand the unique handling and disposal challenges associated with heavy, corrosive organic waste. This specially designed container will not rust or corrode, lasting up to three times longer than steel containers, according to the company.
The Generation II container has a redesigned lid with extra cross support ribs to prevent sagging. A small trap door within the larger lid allows safer, easier waste disposal. The larger single-piece lid has additional plastic to better maintain its shape and to ensure a tight fit to the container to prevent odors as well as to deter insects and rodents. Along with the added plastic, the lid features decreased surface porosity for easier cleaning and reduced mold build-up.
Plastic was also added to improve body strength to maintain the integrity of the container under heavy loads. Since the body is a single-piece design with pockets and casters that do not bolt through, the container will not leak. The manual lock bar prohibits unauthorized access.
“Wastequip responded to customers who said they needed an extra heavy duty container,” says Anne Brantley, containers product manager for Wastequip. “We’re confident that our new Generation II Organics FEL container will meet the needs of restaurants, food retailers and other businesses with high volumes of organic waste.”
The container is available with steel or plastic fork pockets. Steel runners are standard, but casters are also available for easy maneuverability. More information is available at www.wastequip.com.
