Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, has added three locations to its U.S. authorized dealer network.
TranSource Truck & Equipment Inc., Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is now an authorized dealer that will provide the latest Volvo CE products, service and technology to customers throughout South Dakota.
TransSource recently purchased the assets of Sheehan Mack Sales and Equipment, the former Volvo CE dealer in Sioux Falls, renaming it TranSource Truck & Equipment. TranSource will assume the employees, physical property and territory as part of the agreement.
The newly established TranSource operation is owned by 30-year Sheehan partner Larry Clement and Dan and James Bland, who own and operate multiple truck dealerships that represent Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks in North Carolina through sister-company TranSource Truck & Trailer, with locations throughout North Carolina. Under the dealership agreement in South Dakota, TranSource will continue to offer a full line of Volvo CE equipment, parts and service.
The new dealership is expanding its Volvo CE sales with three locations in South Dakota: Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Aberdeen. The company will aim to serve customers operating in such industries as general construction, agriculture and municipal works.
Housby Heavy Equipment, Des Moines, Iowa, and Wise Heavy Equipment, Omaha, Nebraska, will assume territory in Iowa and Nebraska, respectively.
Both new dealers are taking over for Scott Van Keppel (SVK), Monroe, Louisiana, purchasing the heavy equipment company’s assets and assuming its locations. Housby is now the new Volvo CE dealer for Iowa, taking over locations in Ankeny and Cedar Rapids. Meanwhile, Wise has become the new Volvo CE dealer in Nebraska, assuming SVK’s location in Omaha.
Founded in 1969, Housby has developed its product offering to include heavy equipment, ready-mix technologies, waste and forestry equipment.
Also building on its previous experience as a Mack Trucks dealer, Wise has served customers in the transportation, trucking and railroad industries since 1978.
