Vogel Brothers Receives 2007 Build Wisconsin Award

Company recognized for the Oakwood Village West-Heritage Oaks project.

Vogel Brothers Building Co., Madison, Wis., (see C&DR’s cover story) was selected by the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin as a 2007 Build Wisconsin Award winner in the Design Build – New Construction category for the Oakwood Village West – Heritage Oaks project.

The Heritage Oaks project, designed by architects Angus-Young Associates of Janesville, Wis., is a new eight story senior residential housing facility. Construction on the Oakwood Village West Campus began in February, 2005 and was completed in October, 2006. The project consists of a 347,835-square-foot, 124-unit, senior apartment home complex. The building includes two efficiency units and three ADA units, with the majority of apartments ranging between 1,000 and 2,285 square feet.

Throughout the design and construction, Vogel Bros. worked closely with all stakeholders and incorporated them into the process.

Dedicated in October 2006, the project qualified for the award because the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin judged it as an excellent example of focusing the teams’ effort on understanding the owner’s and user’s needs, and then planning each aspect of the project to meet those requirements.
