Vermeer Cages Wildcat

Vermeer now owns all of screen and trommel company Wildcat Mfg.

Vermeer Corp, Pella, Iowa, has acquired the remaining ownership interest in Wildcat Mfg. Co., a maker of trommel screens and compost turners based in Freeman, S.D.

In 2007, Vermeer purchased an initial stake in Wildcast, according to a Vermeer news release. The company says the complete acquisition “will allow Vermeer to continue to grow its lineup of solutions for wood-waste recycling and composting customers.”

The Wildcat manufacturing and support staff will remain located in Freeman, where they will keep the Wildcat brand name while being promoted as a Vermeer-owned company, according to the release.

After the 2007 partial purchase, Vermeer “broadened product distribution through the Wildcat and Vermeer dealer networks,” says the company.

“We believe that the market for Wildcat products is positioned for solid growth over the next several years and we are excited about the opportunities that exist,” says Mike Byram, senior director of environmental solutions for Vermeer.
