Verco Construction Management Co. has completed the demolition project in Washington, DC in partnership with Forrester Construction Co. With an owner target of 75 percent of the three and four story building material to be recycled or salvaged, Verco achieved recycling well in excess of 90 percent of the recovered building material, documenting quantities of each type of waste; its disposition; procedures for separation and verification of acceptance by licensed recycling and processing facilities. The apartment building and its foundations were torn down in preparation for a new health facility now in advanced planning.
"VERCO has a safety program in place that works," said Joe Meringolo, Forrester’s superintendent for the project. "There’s a lot of companies that would like to be able to make that claim with a project of this size" he added.
Verco’s senior management has more than 25 years of experience in construction and selective, interior and mechanical demolition.
