Montabaur, Germany-based Vecoplan AG, which makes shredders and equipment for the global recycling and materials processing industries, has appointed Dr. Ralf Guckert as its new CEO.
The company, which has a United States business unit based in North Carolina, has made the move following the appointment of Eric Jaschke as its chief financial officer last December.
Says Vecoplan of Guckert, “The seasoned entrepreneur is confident that the company, which operates internationally, is still on course for growth, and is focusing its strategy particularly on digitalization and customer proximity.”
Vecoplan says it has positioned itself as one of the leading technology companies in its industry, adding that Guckert will build on that positioning with his “many years of experience in digitalization topics in the industrial environment and in the strategic transformation of companies.”
States the 60-year-old Guckert, “To future-proof Vecoplan AG, I intend to further develop our digitalization concepts. Our customer markets are always at the forefront of our minds.”
Guckert studied atomic and nuclear physics and spent several years in scientific research in the United States. He then moved to the business world, starting with a software company in Germany, eventually becoming its chief technology officer, according to Vecoplan.
His previous work experience also includes being head of business support systems at global telecom equipment firm Ericsson, and Guckert has served as a board member of Vecoplan parent company MAX Automation SE.
Guckert joined Vecoplan in 2021 as its chief operating officer and managing director. He succeeds Werner Berens as CEO of Vecoplan. Berens had led the company since 2012 and resigned from the executive board this January for what Vecoplan calls personal reasons.
