Vecoplan Introduces VNZ Line of Re-Shredders

Vecoplan LLC, Archdale, N.C., has introduced the VNZ Line of dual shaft re-shredders.

Designed for the secondary reduction of pre-shredded feedstock, the VNZ Line can also be used as primary reducers or pre-shredders in many applications.

VNZ shredders can process a variety of materials, including pallets, C&D timbers, wood scrap, boxes, particle board cardboard, paper, post-consumer plastics and organic material.

Unlike traditional shredders with segmented rotors, the VNZ uses Vecoplan’s solid rotor design. The dual rotors employ inexpensive, replaceable bolt-on cutting inserts that are designed to reduce maintenance time, according to the manufacturer. The cutting rotors interact with a shock-absorbing counter knife, located beneath and between the rotors, which is designed to optimize cutting performance while providing protection from high tramp-metal content. This bed knife also allows the VNZ’s rotor shafts to be spaced further apart than those on conventional shredders, allowing large bulky items to be processed quickly and efficiently.

Six models are now offered in the VNZ Line, including two each in the W-Series, the L-Series and the XL-Series. In-feed openings, rotor diameters, number of cutters and drive motors are determined by specific application requirements.
