The H W Martin Waste Ltd recently invested more than $3.3 million in a new processing plant, producing high-calorific value refuse derived fuels. UNTHA shredding technology, headquartered in Kuchl, Austria, was chosen to provide the XR2000S pre-shredder and a TR3200 secondary-shredder. The new plant transforms 50,000 metric tons of industrial, commercial and bulky waste into alternative fuels a year.
H W Martin Waste reported that the XR and TR units exceeded their expectations, especially the the system’s high productivity and efficiency, as well as by the new TR secondary-shredder’s innovative features.
The XR2000S pre-shredder processes 23 metric tons an hour of raw municipal solid waste, while the secondary-shredder processes 10 metric tons per hour of pre-shredded material to a 30 mm particle size.
“Despite the tight installation schedule the plant was completed punctually. I would like to thank all the companies involved for the immense efforts they made for this project,” said Mark Faulconbridge, H W Martin Waste’s plant supervisor.
