Commerce, California-based Typhon Machinery says its Terror XVIII mini-excavator has been the best-selling mini-excavator on eBay.com in the United States for the past three years.
Citing company data, Typhon says 7 out of every 10 new machinery units sold via eBay in the mini-excavator category are Typhon products. In addition to the Terror XVIII, Typhon says its 1.1-ton Terror XI mini-excavator has sold more than 200 units in less than a year, making it one of the top-selling models in the 1-ton segment.
Positioned as an entry-level option, the Terror XI provides buyers with an affordable choice while including features including a swing boom, a multiway throttle valve, a hydraulic thumb clip and a hydraulic oil cooler.
The company says online marketplaces such as eBay have become a key distribution channel, offering buyers a convenient way to compare models, check specifications and access competitive pricing.
“Our sales data reflects sustained interest in compact excavators for construction, landscaping and agricultural projects,” Typhon Machinery CEO Dennis Tan says. “We are pleased that our models are meeting the practical needs of buyers and supporting their work across the country.”
The Terror XVIII and XI models are designed for versatility and reliability, the firm says, serving in construction, landscaping, utility and agricultural applications.
On its website, Typhon lists a California office address while operator manuals posted on the site list a third-floor address in a mixed-use building in Singapore. Participants in equipment user groups on Facebook and other websites point to Hightop Group of Jining, China, as the manufacturer.
