Municipal and private sector recyclers and their suppliers are preparing to gather in Minneapolis, Minn., Aug. 28-31 for the 24th Annual Congress and Exposition of the National Recycling Coalition.
The Minneapolis Convention Center is serving as the home for the NRC Congress, which will include educational sessions, an exposition hall, networking receptions and tours of recycling facilities.
Exhibitors traditionally include state recycling associations, national and regional recycling companies, industry trade associations and suppliers to the recycling industry.
This year’s educational programming includes sessions on municipal program design and management; specific commodities such as paper, plastic and electronics; community outreach and education; and national policy issues.
Tours, which can be attended for a $25 or $30 fee, include trips to two Twin Cities area material recovery facilities (MRFs), a Green Building tour, and tours of the Metrodome Stadium and the University of Minnesota with an eye on their recycling programs.
Those interested in registering for the event or in seeking more information can visit the NRC Web site at www.nrc-recycle.org or call the Coalition office in Washington at (202) 347-0450.
