Travis Body announces appointment

Travis Body & Trailer Inc., a Houston-based manufacturer of end dumps, bottom dumps, transfer trailers and specialty dump trailers, has named Greg Smith vice president of sales and marketing.

The company says that Smith’s main responsibilities will be to oversee Travis’ sales staff and marketing efforts. In addition to sales and marketing, he also will work closely with the company’s management team and dealer business.

“Greg comes to Travis with an outstanding reputation and a wealth of experience in the trailer industry,” says C.K. Hughes, Travis Body’s president. “We’re excited to have him on our management team, working with the sales team, Travis dealers and customers to increase our trailer footprint.”

Smith has more than 30 years of experience in the trailer, truck and equipment industries. Prior to joining Travis, Smith was vice president of sales for Talbert Manufacturing, Rensselaer, Indiana, where he held similar responsibilities.

“Travis is incredibly well-positioned in the trailer markets we serve, especially with our pending capacity increase,” says Smith. “I’m looking forward to using my experience and industry knowledge to support the Travis’ team and dealer network.”
