An informal survey conducted of companies that buy booths at two waste and recycling-related trade shows has uncovered that a significant majority (81 percent) support some kind of consolidation of WasteExpo, WasteCon, and the American Public Works Association (APWA) shows, and only 13% favor the current three exhibition set up.
The survey, organized by five large exhibitors of the three shows, was done to gauge interest in cutting down the number of industry trade show at which companies feel compelled to exhibit. Consolidating the shows would help save exhibiting companies many thousands of dollars annually, the survey’s proponents contend.
The survey had a 21 percent response rate. Besides the 81 percent supporting consolidating of the three exhibitions, 77 percent supported the consolidation of WasteCon and APWA; 62 percent favored an every other year show for WasteExpo; 57 percent supported Las Vegas as the permanent home for WasteExpo; and 70 percent backed an annual show if all three were consolidated, with only 27 percent favoring an off year.Latest from Construction & Demolition Recycling
