Toyota’s North American Production Support Center (NAPSC), a regional training facility, has been awarded Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Expansion and refurbishment of the NAPSC’s 98,000 square foot facility followed USGBC guidelines for site development, material selection, water savings, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality.
According to a press release from Toyota, the building includes the following green building features:
- The building is 100 percent powered by clean, renewable wind generated electricity.
- More than 25 percent of the total building materials content by value have been manufactured using recycled materials.
- The building has installed low-flow urinals, water closets and faucets to reduce water use by 80 percent.
