The bids will be opened Nov. 8 and the City Council will then be asked to sign off on the project, according to the report.
The bid-letting was advertised on Oct. 23.
Among the companies seeking bids are S&K Construction, Paris, Texas; S&S Construction, Clarksville, Texas; Barney Bray and Davy Bivens; Waste Management Inc.; M&M Construction; Tri State Contractors of Detroit; Randy Reaves; Heuberger Construction; and Cherry Demolition of Houston.
The city has budgeted $80,000 for the demolition of the houses, according to the report.
