Hardin County (Texas) has spent $10 million cleaning up after Hurricane Rita, with only two-thirds of the job done, according to a report in the Beaumont Enterprise (Beaumont, Texas).
County commissioners say the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would give the county a 60 percent cash advance on the estimated cost of removing debris and will reimburse the county up to 100 percent within the first 34 days after the storm, according to the report.
Aspludh Tree Co., Willow Grove, Pa., has been contracted to remove tree debris as well as construction and demolition debris.
