Nearly five months after Hurricane Rita hit southeast Texas, Orange County, Texas, is still settling its debris cleanup, according to a report in the Orange County Leader (Orange, Texas).
At a recent meeting, county commissioners settled some hurricane cleanup financial matters, approving the payment of $107,146 to Merit Construction for repairs to various county buildings, according to the report.
Commissioners have also awarded a contract for vegetative debris removal to Plessala Enterprises, which will receive $3 per cubic yard for limbs and stumps up to 18 inches in diameter.
