The solid waste services department of Austin, Texas, has announced that it will close its construction and demolition debris landfill to the public next month, according to a report in the Austin Business Journal (Austin, Texas).
Beginning May 1, the facility, which has been in operation since 1961, will stop accepting material from private companies and individuals.
The landfill will still accept materials generated by city construction projects, according to the report.
