The event and product demonstration were hosted by Alex Brewster & Sons, Craigpark Quarry, Edinburgh. At the event Terex Finlay unveiled three new models: the J-1160 and J-1170 direct drive jaw crushers and I-120RS impact crusher. In addition of the prototype model 684 3-deck inclined screener that will be launched in Q4 2017 was also showcased.
The on-site demonstrations featured nine machines in five working demonstration zones as well as nine machines on static display.
The full machine line and demonstrations included:
Demonstration area 1 featuring the J-1160 jaw crusher, C-1540 cone crusher and NEW 684 3-deck prototype working in a train;
Demonstration area 2 featuring the J-1170 direct drive jaw crusher working alongside the recently launched TC-80 tracked conveyor;
Demonstration area 3 featuring the Terex Finlay 883+ Spaleck recycling screen working in a contaminated and sticky soil application;
Demonstration area 4 featuring the recently launched I-140 impact crusher working in a construction and demolition (C&D) recycling application; and
Demonstration area 5 featuring the I-120RS impact crusher with recently launched 674 inclined screen working in a C&D recycling application.
In addition to the working machine displays the following machines were also on static display: 863 and 883+ heavy duty scalpers; 595 heavy duty grid; 693+ inclined screen; J-960 jaw crusher; J-1170 jaw crusher; and C-1545 cone crusher.
The J-1170 direct drive jaw crusher features optional hydraulic release for demolition and recycling applications; compact dimensions and quick set-up; direct drive jaw chamber fitted with an unblock feature; and a hydraulically assisted closed side setting adjustment.
The J-1160 jaw crusher is designed with a Bosch Rexroth hydrostatic system for variable speed and functionality and to crush in reverse in certain applications such as recycling ‘black top’ and C&D waste. It also weighs 80,000 pounds, which the company says requires either no or a lower class of permit in certain countries and features a fully hydraulic adjustable closed side setting.
The I-120RS impact crusher features a fully hydraulic apron setting assist; heavy duty vibrating feeder (VGF) with integrated prescreen designed to remove dirt fines and sizes bypass material for reprocessing; a detachable recirculating system including a 12-foot by 5-foot two deck screen; and a recirculating conveyor designed to be rotated from closed loop configuration or used for stockpiling.
The second generation Terex Finlay 684 screener features a triple deck 14 foot- by 5-foot 7-inch screen with full catwalk access; a fourth conveyor designed to provide variable tilt and slide slew capability to accurately discharge materials for recirculation to crushers or for stockpiling; and a combination of quick wedge tensioning, access holes and hydraulic tensioning on the bottom deck.
