A construction and demolition debris landfill near Bordeaux, Tenn., has been cleared to expand its facility after nearly two years of legal wrangling, according to a report in the Tennesean (Nashville, Tenn.).
The Metro Solid Waste Region Board reinstated approval of the Waste Management-Southern Services landfill’s permit to grow by seven acres. The board first approved the permit in May 2003, and then reversed its decision following public opposition to the expansion last year.
