Telsmith Inc., Mequon, Wis., is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a manufacturer of mineral processing systems and equipment.
The company introduced its first rock crushing equipment to the market in 1906. Today, Telsmith is a key member of the Astec group of companies.
Telsmith began when entrepreneurs T.L. Smith and Paul Post formed the Smith & Post Co. as a manufacturer of aggregate processing equipment. (The name was later changed to Smith Engineering Works and then to Telsmith.)
The company’s ongoing commitment to quality lead to its ISO 9001 certification in 1994 and to its inclusion as one of several companies comprising the Astec Industries Aggregate and Mining Group.
Telsmith International Headquarters, with its 217,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, is located in Mequon, Wis., near Milwaukee.
In addition to the engineering of fully automated plants and integrated systems, Telsmith’s equipment line includes cone crushers, jaw crushers, primary and secondary impact crushers, portable and modular crushing plants, stationary systems, washing equipment, vibrating screens and feeders and portable and stationary equipment.
