Takeuchi-US, Pendergrass, Ga., a manufacturer of compact equipment, has introduced the TB260 excavator, a new model weighing slightly more than 12,500 pounds featuring a reinforced long-arm with integrated thumb-mount that provides a 12 foot, 9.4-inch dig depth. The TB260 is equipped with a high performance, turbocharged engine that delivers more than 47 horsepower smoothly and efficiently, while meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission requirements.
Takeuchi says that the excavator’s automatic idle helps users reduce fuel consumption and engine noise levels, lowering operating costs and improving jobsite communication. When the equipment is combined with the ECO mode, fuel consumption can be reduced by as much as 21 percent in typical working conditions.
The excavator includes a precision pilot joystick that deliver smooth, metered control for the operator. The excavator also provides variable displacement pumps that provide excellent cycle times and a 12,756 pounds of bucket breakout force. Primary and secondary auxiliary hydraulics come standard, and are operated using independent fingertip proportional controls.
An in-cab monitor can be used to select preconfigured work tools, or it may be customized for specific attachments. In addition, the continuous-run mode helps reduce operator fatigue when operating motor driven attachments. For backfilling and cleanup work, the dozer blade is equipped with a blade float feature. An optional power angle blade that includes a replaceable bolt-on cutting edge is also available.
The automotive-styled interior is equipped with a high-capacity HVAC system to keep the operator comfortable throughout the year.
“Takeuchi is excited about this new excavator, and we look forward to providing today’s contractors with machines that meet the requirements of their demanding jobsites,” says Clay Eubanks, president of Takeuchi US. “We listen to our customers to understand the needs of the jobsite, we then take that feedback and channel it into our products to build quality, purpose-built machines. No other machine on the market can deliver the value, performance and features found on the new Takeuchi TB260 excavator.”
