Takeuchi expands dealership presence in Northeast US

Hoffman Equipment, based in Piscataway, New Jersey, is the newest member of the Takeuchi-US North American dealer network.

Hoffman Equipment will sell, rent and service Takeuchi compact excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders and attachments at its headquarters dealership in Piscataway and at locations in Deptford, New Jersey; the Bronx, New York; and Lionsville, Pennsylvania.

“Takeuchi is a brand we’ve respected for a long time, and we’re proud to represent their compact equipment line, now at four different Hoffman locations,” Hoffman Equipment President Ryan Sherwood says.

“Their machines are known for performance, durability and operator comfort—the qualities our customers are looking for. We see strong demand for compact solutions in our markets, and adding Takeuchi allows us to better serve that need with premium products backed by world-class support.”

Founded in 1963, Atlanta-based Takeuchi was a pioneer in offering compact excavators to North America, with that product line and its line compact track loaders and wheel loaders now its leading products in North America.

Hoffman Equipment has grown from a heavy hauling and rigging company with roots tracing to 1920 into an equipment distributor employing 145 people at six locations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

In addition to Takeuchi products, brands carried by Hoffman include Volvo, Bobcat, Case, Astec, Rubble Master, Morbark, NPK and SAS Forks, according to the firm’s website.

Now owned by Tim Watters, the third generation of the Hoffman family to run the business, Hoffman Equipment offers its wide range of equipment to contractors in the construction, infrastructure and industrial markets.
