The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC) has announced that it has appointed Bud DeFlaviis to serve as the organization’s new executive director, according to a SBIC press release.
Prior to joining the SBIC, DeFlaviis served as the director of government affairs for the U.S. Fuel Cell Council, a 100-member trade association. In that role he helped shape industry consensus on a number of key legislative initiatives, according to the release. He also provided education and outreach support to policy makers and the general public about alternative energy technologies. These efforts resulted in increased appropriations, beneficial authorizations and new progressive tax policies that benefitted the industry, the SBIC says.
