A survey recently released by the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association finds that close to 1.35 million tons of recycled glass and blast furnace slag was used by the industry last year.
According to NAIMA, the figure is a 20 percent increase from 2004’s figures, and brings the total to close to 14.5 million tons since the association began its recycling program in 1992. Use of recycled glass was up 18 percent in the United States and slag use was up 25 percent.
