Superior Industries Inc., a Morris, Minnesota-based supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has announced its acquisition of Canada-based portable crushing plant maker MFE Manufacturing Inc.
MFE designs and builds portable plants for the construction, aggregates and material handling industries. The 68-year company, based in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, had been family owned and operated since its founding in 1947.
The MFE product line includes jaw and cone crushing systems, screen plants and belt feeders configured as portable plants. The company also designs and builds stationary structures for bulk material handling applications at its 25,000-square-foot plant in Miramichi.
According to Superior, the acquisition allows it to boost its existing offering of portable plant designs. In addition, MFE’s location in the northeast adds what Superior calls a “strategically located factory to its North American portfolio, which includes existing plants in the Northwest, Southwest, Southeast and Midwest.”
In its news release announcing the acquisition, Superior says it shares with MFE a “similar strategy incorporating the voice of the customer into product designs, including highly mobile equipment designed for fast setup.”
