Jacksonville, Florida, dumpster rental company Sunshine Recycling Inc., provides specialized dumpsters, recycling and hauling services to companies in Jacksonville and the surrounding communities. Recently, Sunshine signed a contract to provide waste management during the construction of Sulzbacher Village, a 124-unit subsidized housing community in Jacksonville for homeless women and children.
The location for this housing development is a four-acre parcel of land at 5455 Springfield Blvd., near the Gateway Town Center in the Jacksonville community of Brentwood. Construction started in May, and the project is expected to be completed by spring 2018.
Sunshine Recycling is working with the general contractor for this project, Summit Contracting Group (http://www.summit-contracting.com/) of Jacksonville, to manage the waste and debris that will be created throughout the duration of the construction. Sunshine will be supplying 30 yard roll-off dumpsters for construction and demolition debris and 20 yard roll-off dumpsters for concrete only, which will be recycled.
“This housing complex is going to fill a real need in our community,” says Chuck Herb, owner of Sunshine Recycling. “Of the 124 units that will be constructed, 70 will be for permanent housing and 54 will be for emergency housing, including eight designated for female veterans and 10 for women in need of medical respite. Homelessness is an ever-growing problem in our nation. It’s wonderful to see housing complexes like Sulzbacher Village being built to help solve this problem, and it’s also nice to be a part of this project.”
