Sunshine Recycling Inc., a dumpster rental company located in Jacksonville, Florida, has been contracted to provide waste management during the phase two renovation of a local college. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2018.
The Stellar Group Inc., Jacksonville, Florida, is the general contractor for the renovation. Sunshine Recycling has placed several 30-yard roll-off dumpsters on the job site to collect construction and demolition (C&D) debris and old, discarded mattresses from the dorm rooms. Waste materials are being hauled away weekly, and any recyclable materials will be recycled.
“During phase one of the renovation, new study rooms and recreation areas were constructed, along with a community kitchen, laundry facilities and new finishes throughout the four-story, 132-room dorm building,” Chuck Herb, owner of Sunshine Recycling, says. “During phase two of the renovation, the attached building will be overhauled and it will be combined with the present residence hall, to become one new residence facility with shared amenities. It’s a big project, with an anticipated total budged of $3.2 million for design work, construction, furniture, fixtures and equipment.”
