Stellar Industries Inc., Garner, Iowa, has announced three of its employees have achieved certification in Mobile Crane Inspection & Certification through the Crane Institute of America Inc.
David Schwichtenberg, customer service manager, Jeramy Voortmann, design engineer, and Tom Kofron, inspector, are now certified to perform in-house crane inspections, which include the OSHA-required monthly and annual inspections as well as ASME periodic inspections.
The employees completed the Crane Institute of American Mobile Crane Inspector training program that was held Feb. 8-11, 2005, in Eagan, Minn. Certification included classroom attendance, passing a written examination and three years of experience working in a capacity of operation, maintenance, repair, inspection and safety with telescoping and/or lattice boom cranes.
“Having several certified inspectors in-house has given us a better understanding of our customer needs when performing their own inspections,” says Steve Schnieders, engineering manager. “It also allows us to offer this value-added service to our end users.”
