SRG acquires South Carolina metals recycling firm

The Siegel family business Southeast Recycling Group has reached an agreement to acquire Sisk Scrap Recycling, which has two locations in South Carolina.

Dallas, North Carolina-based Southeast Recycling Group (SRG) will acquire Sisk Scrap Recycling, a recycled metals processor with locations in Duncan and Gaffney, South Carolina, in a transaction that is expected to close in late September.

After the acquisition, SRG will operate from five locations: the two acquired from Sisk and its existing locations in Dallas and Grover, North Carolina, and in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

SRG's network stretches along the Interstate 85 corridor and postacquisition will have 150 employees.

The company roster will include Travis, Eric and Jordan Knight, a trio of third- and fourth-generation descendants of Ed M. Sisk, who established Sisk Scrap Recycling in 1947.

“Letting go of Sisk Recycling after so many years was not an easy decision, but we found the right partners to continue our family’s journey in the scrap metal business," Sisk President Travis Knight says.

SRG was formed on at the start of 2025 with the merger of Carolina Metals Group and Spartan Recycling Group, two companies that have six owners who each have more than 30 years of industry experience.
