Southern Industrial Constructors, Raleigh, N.C., and its wholly owned subsidiary, Southern Crane, have been honored with a “Business Champion” award from Business Leader magazine and Wake Technical Community College.
For the second year, Business Leader and Wake Tech teamed up to recognize companies that enhance the Triangle’s workforce by creating jobs and providing essential employee education and training. Rocky Springer, vice president for Southern Industrial, accepted the award.
“At Southern Industrial and Southern Crane, we recognize that our employees perform critically important and potentially dangerous work that requires knowledge, skills and experience – so yes, we willingly invest in efforts that ensure their success,” says Earl Johnson III, president of Southern Crane. “Safety is fundamental to the work we do, and we are proud of our educational and training programs. It is a tremendous honor to receive this award.”
In 2007, Southern Industrial / Southern Crane received numerous industry awards honoring their safety records and technical excellence, including:
· The “Rigging Job of the Year” award from the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, an international trade association,
· A “Certificate of Commendation” by the Associated General Contractors of America, the nation’s oldest and largest construction trade association, for working more than 50,000 hours without any workplace safety incidents, and
