Sennebogen handlers sort recyclables from waste

Two new Sennebogen 818 M material handlers are helping to sort 150,000 metric tons per year of discarded household and and commercial materials for a waste management authority in western Germany.

According to a Sennebogen new release, the two handlers are at work for Entsorgungswirtschaft Soest GmbH (ESG), the waste management authority for the district of Soest in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany.

To handle the materials generated by 300,000 residents in the region, ESG has been working with two private companies, Remondis and Veolia Umweltservice, since 1993.

A regional Sennebogen sales and service dealer delivered the two new 818 Ms at the beginning of 2015 to sort and load the materials. This “latest generation of modern material handlers is powered by a 103 hp (97 kilowatt) diesel engine, a 30-foot (9 meter) reach and numerous safety features,” says Sennebogen.

The cab, which can be elevated up to 18 feet (2.7 meters), “gives operators an excellent view of the work area,” says Sennebogen, as the 818 Ms sort materials and load shipping containers. The machines also are fitted with cameras and work lighting, protective ventilation and access to a grapple scale.

According to ESG Operations Manager Dirk Conrady, the 818 M’s purpose-built design, wheeled undercarriage, ease of maintenance and simple handling all were critical factors in ESG choosing the Sennebogen model.
