Screen Machine Wins Awards

Company wins Governor’s Award for Excellence and Contractor’s Choice award.

Screen Machine Industries Inc. has been recognized by Ohio Lieutenant Gov. Lee Fisher with the 2007 Governor’s Excellence Award in housing and community development.

The award was presented July 25, 2007, at the annual meeting of the Ohio Conference of Community Development Annual Meeting held in Columbus, Ohio.

The award is presented to companies that demonstrate outstanding efforts in the area of housing and community development. Winners were selected this year by the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Housing and Community Partnerships.

Screen Machine Industries Inc. and Licking County, Ohio, formed a partnership in 2004 when the county was awarded an Ohio Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Economic Development Program Grant to assist Screen Machine in expanding its Ohio operations. The company created new jobs and invested several million dollars in the construction of the 90,000-square-foot addition to its existing Etna, Ohio, facilities.

The company was also honored with the Roads & Bridges Contractors Choice award—winning the Gold Award in the Crushing Plants Division for its entry, the 4043T Impact Crusher. Winners were chosen by contractors around the country for their preferred jobsite equipment, based on products nominated by manufacturers.

The 4043T Impact Crusher is a heavy duty horizontal impact crusher that crushes rock, concrete and asphalt and works in tandem with the Screen Machine Spyder 516T portable tracked screening plant.

The Contractor’s Choice Awards presentation will take place during the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) Annual Meeting Oct. 11, 2007, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Screen Machine Industries Inc. has been producing crushing, screening and shredding plants for more than 40 years. More information is available at www.screenmachine.com.
