Scrap Operations Forum Offers Tours, Sessions

Adams Steel tour among ISRI Operations Forum highlights in Anaheim.

The safe and efficient operation of scrap recycling facilities will be the focus of the 2007 Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) Operations Forum, to be held Jan. 25-27 at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim, Calif.

According to ISRI, the Operations Forum is a “mini-convention that allows participants to arrange an educational program that best meets their individual needs.”

This year’s meeting will feature working tours of two scrap yards, Adams Steel and DBW Metals, according to a news release from the trade group. Tours will take place throughout the program and will be geared to the individual program track.

Those who attend all required sessions in a specific track will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ISRI at the conclusion of the forum.

Tracks for the 2007 program include shredder operations, transportation management, baler and shear operations, metals identification, yard management and general operations.

To receive a Certificate of Completion, participants must complete all the sessions for a specific track and attend the opening general session, the Thursday and Friday luncheon meetings, scrap facility tours, and the closing luncheon and presentation on Saturday, January 27.

The forum will also feature a hospitality lounge with tabletop exhibits from participating industry vendors. The advance registration fee through January 4 is $795 for ISRI members and $995 for nonmembers.

ISRI has reserved a block of rooms for attendees at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim. Complete details and online registration information is available at www.isri.org/opsforum.
