Sweden-based Sandvik Construction mobile crushers and screens hosted its inaugural Global Distributor Conference with 75 people from nearly 50 distributors worldwide taking part. The event took place from Jan. 12-15, 2015, and consisted of an agenda of keynote sessions and workshops held at the Slieve Russell Hotel in Ireland, followed by a product display at its new Centre of Excellence in Ballygawley, Northern Ireland.
Sandvik says the event provided the opportunity to bring together the company’s global network of experienced distributors to discuss key areas of business growth in 2015 as well as to ensure that the preferences and requirements of its global customer base continue to be met and exceeded.
The final day of the conference saw guests being transported to the new Centre of Excellence. The site is the company’s major hub of manufacturing for mobile equipment in the U.K., and guests were taken on a tour of the modern production facilities and the complete manufacturing process.
Eight machines were on display across from the center showcasing Sandvik’s range of mobile jaw, cone and impact crushers, screens and scalping equipment. The display represented a fraction of the product portfolio available but showcased some of the bestselling models, according to Sandvik.
Crushers on display included the QJ341 jaw crusher, the largest in the Sandvik Premium range of tracked jaw crushers; the QH331 Hydrocone and QS331 “S” type gyratory cone crushers; and the UH440i cone crusher from the HD range of equipment. The hanging screen system, an optional feature of the QI341 Prisec impactor also was showcased. The hanging screen allows customers an even greater return on investment through the facility to produce accurately sized products for immediate use, according to the company.
From the company’s range of pioneering screening solutions, the new QA441 doublescreen was a major attraction as the largest two-deck tracked mobile screen equipped with Sandvik’s patented doublescreen. The system has two high velocity screens that work independently of each other to offer both primary and secondary screening on one plant.
Distributors also were introduced to two new additions to the company’s Premium range to be launched later this year, the QE441 scalper and QA335 doublescreen, which use what the company describes as the latest in screening and scalping technology.
Eugene Lyons, global sales director for Sandvik mobiles, says of the event, “We were delighted that so many of our global distributors were able to attend our conference in Ireland. This event provided the perfect platform to share our goals and vision, and to be open and honest about our targets for 2015 so we can work to grow the business together.”
The company says the conference not only represents its commitment to its distributor network and their mutual success but also reinforces its position in the marketplace as a key manufacturer of mobile crushing and screening equipment. The Centre of Excellence represents a step forward for the business with a continued commitment to quality, service and equipment designed and manufactured with customers’ needs in mind, the company adds.
