The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be hosting three roundtables in April to discuss the Department of Labor’s (DOL) proposed overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The National Demolition Association will be participating in the roundtable in Washington, D.C. and is encouraging its members to participate as well. The D.C. session has a call-in option available for those who can’t be there in person.
DOL’s proposed rule increases the minimum salary for the “white collar” overtime exemption from $23,660 annually to $35,308 annually. This means that workers making under $35,308 annually would be eligible for overtime pay. More information about the rule is available online.
SBA says its goal is to hear directly from small businesses about the impact of the proposed rule, which will help inform its comments on the rule.
Anyone interested in participating in one of the roundtables listed below should RSVP to Janis.Reyes@sba.gov.
