Rotobec, Sainte-Justine, Quebec, offers clamshell buckets that the company says are ideal for dredging applications. The attachments are available in light duty, medium duty, heavy duty and super heavy duty models.
Rotobec’s clamshell buckets have capacity ranges from 1.5-6 cubic yards. The buckets are made to fit excavators and material handlers ranging from 15,000-200,000 pounds, although customized sizes are available to suit specific applications and machines, the company says.
An optional bolt-on Enviroseal kit, which allows for a tight seal between the grapple jaws, thus preventing leakage of material in dredging applications, is available on certain clamshell bucket models, Rotobec says. The buckets also are available in a marine-prepared version for saltwater applications.
