Transwestern, a Houston-based commercial real estate services provider, and Rivion, a newly formed consulting firm specializing in efficient commercial real estate operations based in Milwaukee, have announced a new relationship that is designed to enable both parties to deliver leading sustainability solutions to clients.
As an independent company, Rivion will provide its consulting services to commercial real estate owners, users and operators globally, to continue finding solutions for improving building performance that reduce operating costs, increase asset value and create healthy environments.
Rivion, formerly Transwestern Sustainability Services, will be led by principal Allan Skodowski, previously managing senior vice president and director of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and sustainability services for Transwestern.
“I’m pleased that this is a relatively seamless transition for our customers who will continue working on their sustainability programs with the people they already know and trust,” Skodowski says. “This is a talented group of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who share a deep passion for making a difference for our customers. I’m honored to work alongside them as we deliver on our current services and look to add new offerings.”
Transwestern says it will continue its longstanding commitment to sustainable building operations that have been embedded into the day-to-day responsibilities of its asset services and engineering teams. Transwestern was recently recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award for its continued leadership in sustainability practices and reducing overall energy consumption at its managed properties.
Transwestern, an Energy Star partner since 2002, has been recognized for 13 consecutive years: in 2004 and 2005 as an Energy Star Partner of the Year and in 2006 through 2016 as a Sustained Excellence recipient – the first third-party commercial real estate services provider to achieve both designations.
“Sustainability practices always have been and always will be integrated into our standard building operations,” says Rob Bridges, Executive Managing Director of Asset Services at Transwestern. “It has been a pleasure working with Al and his team, who are passionate about their purpose and committed to customer service. We look forward to engaging Rivion as a resource for any specialized sustainability work that we perform in the future.”
