Description: The contractor shall use automated tie handling equipment capable of removing 500 used crossties per day and furnish all plant, labor, transportation, equipment, material, and incidentals necessary to remove and dispose of used railroad ties (approximately 46,000) from various areas of the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, OK in accordance with statement of work and applicable U.S. Department of Labor Wage Determination.
Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102. Therefore, hardcopies will not be provided.

Description: Contractors shall furnish and deliver the following grades/types of crushed aggregate products to various locations on the Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky on an as-needed basis. Crushed aggregate shall meet the composition and grading requirements set forth in the Kentucky 2000 Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, or the most recent version of these standards. Grades of stone/aggregate shall include KY#2, KY#3, KY#4, KY#8, KY#9-M, KY#11, KY#57, KY#610, Channel Liner (Classes I, II, III, and IV), Dense Grade Aggregate and Large Boulders.
The primary delivery locations for crushed aggregate will be Forest Service Roads, with some aggregate, channel liner, and boulders being delivered to other locations, such as recreation areas or project sites. Aggregate delivered to Forest Service roads will be tailgate spread and stone delivered to other sites will generally be dumped in stockpiles.
This solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quotation and multiple awards of Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contracts will be made. The estimated value of this procurement is less than $100,000 total from date of award until September 30, 2004. A copy of the solicitation will be available on this website around 11/21/03.

Abandoned Fort Benton Water Treatment Plant Demolition

Description: Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment and supplies necessary to complete the following: demolish existing abandoned Fort Benton Water Treatment Plant (Plant); remove all mechanical equipment above the floor level from Roundhouse; install two well casings and fill with 1/4 inch washed rock; patch concrete floor; remove jetty from Missouri River (the permit to remove concrete from the River is valid for the period January 28, 2004, through April 21, 2004); remove visible concrete to a depth above 2,618 feet; remove all concrete from along the riverbank to a depth above 2,618 feet; remove dead trees; removal of asbestos materials; and seeding.
This contract will require a licensed asbestos abatement contractor to remove approximately 1,650 square feet of Transite shingle roofing containing asbestos before demolition of the Plant. The loose insulation in the ceiling must be removed entirely before demolition. All portions of the building will be removed from the site.
All materials must be disposed of at an approved waste landfill capable of handling hazardous materials and those materials not accepted at the Fort Benton City Site. Work also includes demolition of two house foundations located on the property.
The disposal of the concrete rubble from the building and all other building materials, including all mechanical equipment, shall be paid for by the ton and must be weighed on a certified scale. The Contractor will structurally backfill excavations after removal of foundation with Government approved granular structural backfill material.
The work is located in Fort Benton, Chouteau County, Montana. This project is open to both large and small businesses under full and open competition procedures as authorized by the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
The Government Estimate is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The solicitation will be in electronic format only at http://www.fbo.gov. Contractors will be required to print the bidding documents for submission of their offer at the place designated for receipt of offers for a public bid opening. Bid guarantee is not required. However, a payment bond or alternative payment protection in the form of an Irrevocable Letter of Credit is required after contract award in the amount for 100% of the contract amount. Contractors must be registered or have updated their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov to be eligible to receive an award under this solicitation.
